A SZERZŐ BEMUTATÁSA Interdiszciplináris Magyar Egészségügy Dr. Kovács Ákos 1985-ben szerzett általános orvosi diplomát a Semmelweis Orvostudományi Egyetemen. 1988-ban ECFMG, 1989-ban FLEX amerikai orvosi vizsgát tett. Az Egyesült Államokban szerzett szakvizsgákat: 1994. belgyógyászat, 1998. infektológia területen. Karrierjét 1986.-ban Budapesten, a Szent István kórház, I. sz. Belgyógyászatán kezdte. Klinikai kutatóként 1987-től a Hoechst-Roussel-nél, 1990-től a New York-i Downtown Hospitalban tevékenykedett, belgyógyász rezidens és a New York University-n infektológiai fellow volt. 1996-tól 20 éven át a The Brooklyn Hospital Center – oktató kórház infektológiai konzulense. Tudását hazatérése után (2015) DRC-nél, Balatonfüreden – klinikai vizsgálatok terén, illetve a Szent László és Szent István Kórházban, illetve a Vanderlich Egészség Centrumban Veszprémben kamatoztatja infektológus konzulensként. Részt vesz a Semmelweis Egyetem angol nyelvű oktatásában XII. IME Regionális Egészségügyi Konferencia 2017. február 23-24.
